Hi, Afashima! Well, certainly intonation is an aspect of language that at times can be hard to translate. What I intended to say in this article, however, is that there are certain words that are so intimately connected to culture and to the history of a language itself (let's consider what happens with Arab-origin words in Spanish, for instance), that it becomes difficult or virtually impossible to render a one-to-one translation.
